HALO UV Sterilization
HALO UV Sterilization is the final safety stage for water that may carry microorganisms — most often a private well, a spring, or a home on a boil-water-prone system. Ultraviolet light inactivates bacteria, viruses and parasites without adding anything to the water.
How UV disinfection works
Water flows through a stainless chamber past a UV-C lamp inside a quartz sleeve. The UV dose scrambles the DNA of bacteria, viruses, and cysts such as giardia and cryptosporidium so they cannot reproduce or infect. It works continuously as water passes — there is no holding tank or contact time to wait for.
It is one of only four disinfection methods approved by the U.S. FDA, produces no disinfection byproducts, wastes no water, and — unlike chlorine — does not change the taste or smell of the water.
What UV does not do
UV only handles living organisms. It does not remove heavy metals, salts, chlorine, sediment or chemical contaminants, and it needs clear water to work — cloudy water shields the organisms from the light. Milani installs it after sediment and, where needed, carbon filtration, and sizes the unit to the home's peak flow.

How Milani installs and looks after it
Milani installs HALO equipment on the main line where water enters the home (or, for drinking-water and point-of-use units, under the kitchen sink), tests your water first so the system is matched to what you actually have, and sets it up with the correct bypass and shut-offs so future service is simple. Where a unit has replaceable cartridges or media, we tell you the schedule and supply the parts.

Warranty
HALO UV systems carry HALO's limited warranty on the chamber and ballast; the lamp and quartz sleeve are maintenance items (lamp yearly). Milani registers the system and supplies lamps and sleeves.
