Iron, sulfur & manganese filtration
HALO Iron / Sulfur Removal
The HALO Iron/Sulfur filter is for well water that stains fixtures orange, smells of rotten eggs, or leaves black specks — the signs of iron, hydrogen sulfide and manganese. It removes all three in one tank with a media that outperforms traditional brands and needs no chemical regeneration.
One media, three problems
The filter media is 80% manganese dioxide, which oxidises dissolved iron and manganese into particles and reacts with hydrogen sulfide, trapping them in the bed. A periodic backwash flushes the accumulated iron and sulfur to the drain and re-beds the media — no potassium permanganate or chlorine feed required.
It holds performance across a wide pH range (5.0 to 9.0) and delivers the highest flow rate among standard iron-removal medias, so it does not choke household pressure.

Getting it right
Iron and sulfur treatment depends heavily on the exact water chemistry — how much iron, what form it is in, oxygen level, pH. Milani tests the well water and sizes the filter (and any pre-oxidation) to match, so the results last.
