Lennox ML14KC1 — straightforward, efficient cooling
The ML14KC1 is the air conditioner in Lennox's Merit Series — the value tier. It is a single-stage split-system unit that meets or exceeds 14.3 SEER2, runs on the newer lower-GWP R-454B refrigerant, and is built in Lennox's PermaGuard weather-resistant cabinet. A matching Merit-series heat pump, the ML14XP1, is available if you want heating from the same platform.
Single-stage cooling, meets or exceeds 14.3 SEER2
A single-stage air conditioner is either off or running at full capacity — simpler than a two-stage or variable-speed system, with fewer parts and a lower price. The ML14KC1 meets or exceeds the current 14.3 SEER2 minimum efficiency and operates as quietly as 73 dB.
It is a good fit when the priority is a reliable, cost-effective replacement rather than the tightest possible temperature control or the lowest running cost.

2025-compliant R-454B refrigerant
The ML14KC1 uses R-454B, the lower global-warming-potential refrigerant Lennox has moved its residential lineup to under the 2025 regulations. Milani confirms the exact charge and current model revision at the time of install.
Also available as a heat pump
If you would rather have both heating and cooling from one outdoor unit, the Merit series also includes the ML14XP1 heat pump. It shares the ML14KC1's single-stage design, PermaGuard cabinet and R-454B refrigerant, and adds electric heating that can supplement or replace a gas furnace in milder weather. Milani can quote either at your address.
Warranty and thermostat
The ML14KC1 pairs with a standard Lennox thermostat. It carries a 5-year limited warranty on the compressor and on covered components, extendable to 10 years when the system is registered after a qualifying installation. Milani completes the registration and keeps the paperwork on file.
