When buying the best air conditioning for your space, there are a few key things that need to be considered. Here are some tips to keep in mind when purchasing a new air conditioning system for your space:

Size of Air Conditioning

Sizing is an important factor when it comes to air conditioning. An air conditioning system that is too small will be underpowered and will struggle to produce cool air and will end up using more energy. On the other hand, air conditioners that are too big will give the air a damp, uncomfortable feel.

One of the most common mistakes people make when buying an air conditioner is to assume that the bigger the unit the better it will work. The truth is that buying an air conditioner that’s too big for your room is just as much of a waste as buying one that’s too small. There will also be an increased difficulty during installation if the air conditioning unit is too large for the required space.

A larger air conditioning system will likely cost more, and it will probably make the room too cold because the cooling capacity doesn’t match the size of the space. It will also cycle on and off more frequently than a properly sized unit and it won’t be able to properly control the humidity level, leaving you with uncomfortably cold air and a damp environment instead.
We know that space in your Vancouver home is already precious, so be sure to not install ac units that become more intrusive than helpful.

Square Footage

The best way to determine how large of an air conditioner unit you need is to match the number of BTUs the unit has to the square footage of the room you want to use it in. Make sure to decide on the room you’re buying AC for before you make your purchase.

The number of BTUs needed goes up proportionately with the room size, so even if you don’t have exact measurements or if your room is oddly shaped, you can get a good idea of how large an air conditioner you need. For instance, a 400 to 550 square foot room is best served by an air conditioner with between 10,000 BTU and 12,000 BTU, while a room that’s only 250 square feet would probably be fine with an 8,000 BTU unit.

Intelligent Cooling

With the advancement of technology, air conditioners have gotten smarter. With smarter features, you are able to control and adjust cooling from your smartphone so even when you are away, your home stays comfortable.

You can also utilize a remote control to be able to change the temperature of your thermostat in any room of the house. An air conditioner with remote comes in handy when you’re busy around the house, but need to cool down.

    1. A recommendation depends on the layout and currently installed systems in your home. The two main types on AC we sell are central and split system. If you have air ducts running through your home, the central system would be best. Split systems can work in almost any home though. Both systems are effective at cooling and have the option to double as a heater as well. Depending on your needs, some makers are preferable over others.
